Project Server 2007/2010/2013
The request failed with HTTP status 401 Unauthorized
You entered valid credentials in Allocatus Server Configuration to access Project Server, but this account does have the required permissions. Please check:
- Account does belong to the Administrators Group in Project Server
- Account is not the identity of the PWA Site Application Pool (2007)
- Shared Service Provider Url (see Allocatus Server
- Configuration/Connections/Project Server) is incorrect (2007)
- Project Server User is configured for Forms based authentication
- SharePoint Website hosting the PWA does not allow impersonation: Required is tag <identity impersonate="true" /> in section <system.web> of web.config, path e.g. C:\inetpub\wwwroot\wss\VirtualDirectories\80
Please see Admin Guide for details.
The request failed with HTTP status 404 Not Found/The remote name could not be resolved: 'server'
Either the Project Web Access Url or the Shared Service Provider URL (see Allocatus Server Configuration/Connections/Project Server) is incorrect. Please enter the URL in Internet Explorer and logon with the User both specified in the error message. On the server itself you should see a web page. If not, check the both values.
Please see Admin Guide for details.
The underlying connection was closed: An unexpected error occurred on a receive. Unable to read data from the transport connection: An existing connection was forcibly closed by the remote host.
Make sure NTLM is used a authentication provider, or if you are using Kerberos, make sure this has been configured correctly in your network. Check IIS Logs for further details.
The value for column 'TASK_NAME' in table 'Assignments' is DBNull
Allocatus Server cannot read the task name from Project Server. The reason is that it was not correctly published from Project Server. So please republish the project with Project Professional which is stated in the error message:
- Open Microsoft Project Professional
- Click File/Publish
If the issue remains execute the following steps
- Open Microsoft Project Professional
- Go to Gantt Chart view
- Add the column Publish to the table
- Set Publish for the affected task to No
- Click File/Publish
- Set Publish for the affected task to Yes
- Click File/Publish
GeneralUnhandledException
Allocatus Server gets an unspecified response from Project Server. Please investigate the ULS Logs from SharePoint Server and try to republish as described above.
If not all users are affected, check the user permissions in PWA and verify that the affected user has logon rights (the user is at least in one of the security groups).

Check if the Project Web App URL that you configured in the Allocatus Server Configuration is correct. Paste it to an Internet Explorer and logon with the account that you configured to access Project Server. You should see the PWA Homepage.
If you see the PWA Homepage, make sure that Enable anonymous access is not checked for the Web Application hosting the Project Web App.
Project Server 2002/2003
Login failed for user
In conjunction with Project Server 2002/3 you need to created a SQL Server account with read/write permission on the ProjectServer database. Please see Admin Guide for details. We strongly recommend using the Express Setup mode, because it does this automatically.
